Iza Calzado will be the lead star in the next featured story of SRO Cinemaserye Presents: Rowena Joy.

Iza will be portraying a role of Rowena Joy, a gay who undergone a sexual reassignment surgeries.

Also in the cast are Paolo Ballesteros as the gay Rowena Joy and TJ Trinidad as their ultimate love interest.

�One True Love� Earns P10 Million on Its Opening Day

GMA Films and Regal Entertainment reportedly announced that the movie �One True Love� starring Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Iza Calzado earned 10 million pesos in gross sales on its opening day.

One True Love was given a "B" grade by the Cinema Evaluation Board and rated PG-13 by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

It will also be sh0wn in Guam starting November 21 up to December 5. There will also be screenings in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Las Vegas, and Hawaii.

One True Love - Movie Preview

Iza Calzado, together with the most sought-after, successful, and I must say "controversial" loveteam of today - Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, will star in GMA Films and Regal Entertainment's "One True Love".

Synopsis: Medical intern named Migs (Dingdong Dantes) will have to deal with the conflict between his heart and his mind. After three years of courtship, he is about to get married to Joy (Marian Rivera), a nurse who works in the same hospital as him. However, days before the wedding, his first love Bella (Iza Calzado) returns to the Philippines. The balikbayan is still single and still in love with Migs, whom she broke up with in the past when her family migrated to the United States for their restaurant business.

The women in Migs�s life try to get along with each other but knowing that they are both in love with the same man give rise to feelings of jealousy and envy. When Migs gets into an accident, he develops lacunar amnesia, a type pf amnesia that blocks off time periods from one�s memory. In his case, it blocks off the three years that he was in love with Joy and leaving him with memories of Bella.

The movie also stars Jennica Garcia, Pinky Marquez, Bianca King, Tessie Tomas, Boots Anson Roa, and Chinggoy Alonzo.

One True Love is written by Maryo J. delos Reyes and directed by Mac Alejandre. Coming to theaters nationwide on November 19, 2008.

Iza Calzado is November's Featured Artist in "Obra"

This November, Iza Calzado will showcase her versatility as an actress as she portrays four challenging roles that will display different facets of her personality in GMA-7's Obra.

These four touching stories are titled "Sanib," "Boksingera," "Beauty Queer," and "Stella .45." These episodes will be directed by the country's new breed of directors, namely Toppel Lee, Mark Reyes, Dominic Zapata, and Rico Gutierrez.

Directed by Toppel Lee, "Sanib" is Obra's Halloween special that tells about a woman possessed by an evil spirit with a sinister past. How can she and her husband surpass this supernatural foe when they still have to exorcise the ghosts of their own past?

Then, she plays the role of a female boxer whose heart will be torn between the man she loves and her father's fervent dream for her in the emotionally gripping episode "Boksingera" directed by Mark Reyes.

In the funny yet heartwarming episode "Beauty Queer," Iza plays the role of a consistent "thank you girl" or a losing contestant in beauty pageants who is determined to win a crown. She the resorts to joining a gay beauty contest but can she continue with her plan even if it means exchanging triumph for love? This comedic episode is directed by Dominic Zapata.

Lastly, the award-winning actress will portray the role of an assassin who wants to change her life but her profession keeps haunting her in the episode "Stella .45" directed by Rico Gutierrez.
