Typhoon Juaning PAGASA Update July 27, 6 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm "JUANING" has slightly weakened as it interacted with the rugged terrain of Northern Luzon after it made landfall.

Tropical Storm "Juaning" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 60 km Northeast of Baguio City (16.8�N, 121.1�E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that Tropical Storm "Juaning" is moving Northwest at 17 kph.

Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered.

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signals no. 2 & no. 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.

Tropical Storm "Juaning" will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring widespread rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides over the Rest of Luzon and Western Visayas.
