Bagyong Mina - PAGASA Weather Update August 28, 3 p.m.

Bagyong Mina (NANMADOL) PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletin Number 21 issued at 11:00 a.m.,Sunday, 28 August 2011









At 11:00 a.m. today, Bagyong "MINA" (NANMADOL) has accelerated slightly and still continues to move North Northwestward.



Bagyong "Mina" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 60 km West of Basco, Batanes (20.5�N, 121.3�E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and Gustiness of up to 150 kph.

Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere now lowered.



Residents in low lying and mountainous areas particularly the western section of Northern and Central Luzon are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.



Estimated rainfall amount is from 10-20 mm per hour within the 550 km diameter of the typhoon.
