EA Sports Lawsuit Sustained by US Court

EA sports lawsuit filed two years ago by former Nebraska and Arizona State quarterback Sam Keller and former UCLA basketball player Ed OBannon for allegedly using their likenesses in-game without their consent might cost EA a $1-billion in damages.

EA filed a petition to dismiss a court case filed against them saying they have a First Amendment right to use the players likenesses. But the US judge has denied the petition. Moreover, the law ask EA to pay each of the 10,000+ players in the associated games a $1,000 each, bringing the possible sum-up cost of $334.5-million.
