Suspension of Classes on August 3 Announced


Department of Education (DepEd) releases the following advisories for suspension of classes in preschool, elementary and high school levels today, August 3, 2011:

NCR � Afternoon classes (starting 12NN) in preschool, elementary, and high school will be suspended per PAGASA�s forecast that moderate to heavy rainfalls throughout the region will be experienced, of which may approximate the amount of rainfall volume yesterday.


Region 1 � Classes from preschool, elementary, and high school in Dagupan and in the entire Pangasinan province have been suspended early today by Governor Amado Espino, Jr. due to continuous rains since last night. In Dagupan, schools are flooded because of high tide. Schools in the province will have Saturday classes to make up for lost school days. noypistuff


Region 3 � Regular classes today, except for the following still flooded schools and areas in Pampanga:

4. San Rafael ES

8. Baliti ES

10. Sta. Lutgarda

Macabebe East District

1. Caduag Tete

2. San Isidro ES

3. San Gabriel

4. San Roque

5. Sta. Rita

6. Telacsan

7. Masantol San Isidro ES

8. Sapang Kawayan ES


Region 4A

Mayors of San Pablo in Laguna, Alitagtag, and Taal in Batangas have suspended classes in Preschool, Elementary, and high school in their areas.
Mayors of Dasmari�as and Gen. Trias in Cavite have also declared that afternoon classes in Preschool, Elementary, and high school in their areas be suspended due to heavy rains.

Again, we remind the local authorities (LGUs, DepEd officials, and principals) that they may suspend classes if the situation warrants it. Parents, of course, can decide whether to send their children to school or not.

We also urge the public to continue monitoring the weather and stay alert for any announcements in case the rainfall volume increases.
