Roderick Paulate, an award-winning comedy actor and now a Quezon City Councilor has been charged before the Office of the Ombudsman for allegedly hiring "ghost employees" and paying them monthly salaries using taxpayers' money.
Kuya Dick, as he is fondly called in showbiz, won a seat as a member of the Sangguniang Panglungsod of Quezon City's second district in last years local elections.
Aside from Paulate, 2 other City officials were also included in the case filed by complainant Jimmy Lee Davis - they are City councilors Marvin Rillo and Francisco Calalay.
According to the evidence presented by Davis, there are payrolls showing the disbursement of public funds for the reported ghost employees which are in the hands of the City Treasurer Eduardo Villanueva. He also showed around 10 copies of fake personal data sheets and 10 copies of fraudulent job orders.
Davis, who has former Senator Aquilino Pimentel Jr. as his legal counsel, said the Ombudsman should summon Villanueva to shed light on the issue.
Paulate, Rillo, and Calalay have yet to comment on the allegations.
